Just bought a new desktop PC, an HP Pavilion p6-2330 from Amazon.com. Got a great deal, $379 + free shipping (Amazon Prime Member). Our 5 year old HP desktop w/Vista (yuck!) was giving us problems. It refused to update Windows, even though updates were available. Then Nortons antivirus kept getting disabled. Virus, Trojan you ask, well the short answer is who knows? I even re-cored the PC twice, re-installing the operating system to factory. I then let the PC install all updates and yet again the same symptoms arose. I’m chalking it up to a Windows update problem, they’ve stopped supporting mainstream Vista anyway, so it was time for me to stop supporting it too. Ubuntu here I come!

- Windows 8
- 1024 GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive
Not a bad deal for a 3.6 GHz AMD and a TBHD. It’s a Windows 8 32bit machine, so it’s only using 4 GB of RAM, but the other systems have access to all 6, and I can always upgrade.
